I enjoyed this book, BUT I had two major issues with it. The first is the all too common insta-love. It just bugged the hell out of me. Nobody connects that deeply after just one freaking date. That made the book a lot less enjoyable to me. I just couldn't get behind the broken hearts and woe is me feelings because I just didn't buy the immediate love. The other one is a minor annoyance: he's just too young to be a teacher, even a student teacher. That would never work in real life, especially in a high school. That's just a law suit waiting to happen. Hot young teacher to seniors with only a two year difference? No way. Not only wouldn't he get any respect, the girls would be trying to seduce him all day. It just wouldn't work.
However, the pink balloons scene made it all worth it. I BAWLED my eyes out.
